Previous work experience: I worked at Vogue for 3 weeks last year (so NOT The Devil Wears Prada, for your information) and currently work part-time as PR & Marketing Co-ordinator for a company called The Designer Forum.
Brought up in rural Suffolk, you could say I am a bit of a country-bumpkin sort of girl... hmmm – think again. I love living the high life and my bank account would probably be solid evidence of this, I’m mad about all things pretty, glittery and/or sparkly and am quite partial to an afternoon stroll to Topshop to have a gander at the lovely clothes. You’ve guessed it... I adore fashion, anything from Zara to Miu Miu (my absolute favourite brands, only one of which I can afford!) yet my most prized possession at the moment would have to a little sequinned number that I bought from a delicious little boutique just around the corner from where I live... for a tenner. My God, I love a good bargain.
My personal taste however is rather eclectic, one day I might be wearing a pretty little tea dress and cutesy ballet pumps, the next: battered converse, a baggy t-shirt and oversized cardigan. Rather aptly therefore, my friends have nicknamed me after the infamous Ugly Betty, I do have a similar printed rabbit top that apparently only someone short sighted by -3.50 would even consider wearing and sure enough that person would be me; those thick rimmed black monstrosities she’s also “fashioned”? I have a pair.
“Now me personally? I was born in Harare, Zimbabwe [my dad is orginally from there] and there is nothing I love more than Kariba Dam, where having a braai (that’s a BBQ peeps) and jumping in the pool on a beautiful, hot, Christmas day is standard ……unlike “sunny&rdquo England. Which leads me nicely onto to rain, don’t get me wrong I love Winter and Snow but pathetic drizzle? No thank you very much. Hot Chocolate is the only answer on these occasions, Green and Blacks of course, not too chocolatly and not too calorific! [Not that I religiously calorie count or anything; a tub of Haagan Daaz Cookie Dough has been known to be consumed within a day when I’m around.] Other than hot chocolate and ice cream, I’m particularly partial to an afternoon cup of tea from my “Little Black Dress&rdquo Rosanna Tea Cups with Earl grey and a jaffa cake or two... naturally.&rdquo
Communications wise, I reckon I would get an A* if there was a degree in idle gossip and there is nothing I crave more than a social, fun-filled, wild night out with the girls and as much as I love cocktails; hand me a Sambuca, chased with a Snakebite and you’re a friend for life!
So there you have it, well I think that’s all, Emma in a nutshell – you lucky devil x x
